1. Embroidery Coverage: Defining Your Look

Every embroidered patch starts with a base layer of durable twill fabric. The texture and cost of your patch are determined by "coverage", which is the amount of the patch surface stitched with thread.

• Up to 50% Coverage (Classic & Textured): Ideal for text-heavy logos and simple geometric designs. The colored twill fabric base remains visible in the background, providing a vintage, contrasting look.

• 75% Coverage (The Industry Standard): Suitable for most corporate logos and sports team emblems. Most of the design is stitched, with small areas of twill visible to create depth and shadow effects.

• 100% Coverage (Premium Luxury): The entire surface is stitched with thread, completely covering the base fabric. This creates a thicker, glossy, and luxurious finish, perfect for high-end fashion branding.

• Merrowed Border (Overlock): A heavy, stitched border that wraps around the edge of the patch. This traditional finish provides maximum durability against fraying. This is the best border finish for uniforms, jackets, and regular shapes (circles, squares, shields).
• Laser-Cut Border (Heat Cut): A precision laser cuts the patch to the exact shape of your design, sealing the edges with heat. This creates a flat, seamless profile. This is best for complex custom shapes, floating designs, and modern fashion applications.

There are several application options to match your preferences and project. Each method offers its own benefits:

• Sew-on: The archival choice for permanent attachment. Includes a paper backing for structure. Sew-on is often used for vintage denim, leather jackets, and high-friction workwear.
• Iron-on: Features a commercial-grade heat-seal adhesive. Apply with a household iron or heat press (approx. 20 sec at 160°C). Iron-on patches are the recommended option for retail merchandise, t-shirts, tote bags, and hats.
• Velcro (Hook & Loop): Available as hook-only or 2-piece sets. Allows for easy swapping of badges. Velcro patches are the best option for military uniforms, tactical gear, and interchangeable staff roles.
• Stick-On: A temporary peel-and-stick adhesive. Stick-on patches are recommended for event swag and applying to hard surfaces like laptops.

Embroidered patches last many years. Their lifespan mainly depends on how and where they are used and the application type. Patches exposed to outdoor conditions or frequent use will naturally wear faster than patches used indoors or on items with minimal friction.

After you place your order, our team will review your design and send a digital proof. Once approved, production typically takes 10 to 14 business days. After completion, your patches are shipped to your door using trusted delivery services.

Choose 50% for a vintage, textured look where the twill fabric is part of the design. Choose 75% for standard logos (most popular). Choose 100% for a luxurious, fully-threaded finish with high sheen and no visible fabric base.

Both options are great, but the choice depends on your design. Embroidered patches are stitched onto a fabric base and have a raised, textured feel. They're ideal for bold, graphic designs and have a traditional look.

Woven patches, on the other hand, are created using fine threads woven together, resulting in a flatter, smoother surface. These are better suited for designs with small text or fine detail. If your design is especially complex or uses many colors, you may want to consider printed patches as well.

Vector files (AI, PDF, EPS) give the best results for clarity. However, high-resolution PNGs or JPGs (300 dpi) also work well. Our expert designers review every file before production to ensure the stitch path is perfect.
